I’ve been designing websites professionally since 2000. When I started Dreamweaver was in version 3 or so and quite awful to use, but designers made do with what we had. Photoshop didn’t even use hex codes at the time so I had to convert colors to hex for projects. Design software has come a long way since then and style sheets have made a world of difference in designing sites. I still design in Photoshop and Dreamweaver, but now I also use Illustrator and make heavy use of CSS. I prefer to build websites using WordPress as the foundation so my clients can update their own content easily without needing to buy any software.
